Lillet Blanc: The Refreshing Bordeaux Aperitif vs Amaro (Italian Herbal Liqueur)

Both drinks are poured over ice and finished with orange, yet they head in different directions. Lillet Blanc is served thoroughly chilled in a generously iced glass, its delicate, fruity character lifted by a thin orange wheel or twist, making it a light, refreshing aperitif. Amaro, poured over one or two large cubes, is a more intense sip with complex herbal flavors; here the orange peel is twisted over the glass and rubbed around the rim to release bright citrus oils.
